Boy with muscular dystrophy comes home to surprise bedroom makeover

An 11-year-old American football fan who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy came home to a big surprise last week – after his bedroom was redesigned to resemble the locker room of his favourite team.

Kyle, an avid Florida State fan who lives in Fulton County, Georgia, received a surprise visit from star Warwick Dunn and a video from FSU coach Jimbo Fisher, who welcomed him into his new bedroom – which had been rebranded as “Coach Kyle’s Room”.

Not-for-profit organisation Sunshine on a Ranney Day had completely remodelled the youngster’s bedroom to resemble the Florida State locker room.

The organisation also gave young Kyle signed football merchandise, and renovated the 11-year-old’s bathroom to make it wheelchair accessible.

The devoted sports fan, who has dreams of one day becoming a Florida State Football coach himself, was overjoyed to meet and hear words of encouragement from his American football heroes.
